Maramures Mountains Nature Park Management Plan started at the beginning of 2008. Maramures Mountains Management Plan (MP) is the official paper which sets up the legal framework of developing parks actions for reaching its objectives. This document is the legal base for parks activities, after its approval by governmental decision.
According to national law, the MP has been approved by the Scientific Council of MMNP. After it has been made the first version of MP it has been sent for recommendations to the Mr. Mike Appleton, the international expert who set up also the manual for elaborating protected areas management plans.
In 7-11 April 2008, at MMNP house, international consultants Mike Appleton and Philip Desmet had analyzed the first draft of MP, and as a result they have elaborated a set of recommendations for its review. According to this and also to the ones made by NFA-ROMSILVA the management plan has been review. It has been set up the internal zoning map and also the species list, using the researcher’s reports and the existing bibliography.
Together with Mike Appleton, the MMNP team realized the operational plans for implementing the MP.
