In the beginning of November 2006, the Maramureş Mountains Nature Park Administration together with the Măcin Mountains National Park Administration organized a study tour in two national parks from European Union: Hohe Tauern National Park from Austria and Triglav National Park from Slovenia.
The team that took part at this study tour consisted from mayors of the localities from Maramureş Mountains Nature Park and Măcin Mountains National Park, a person representing Maramureş County Council and the administrations of the Maramureş Mountains Nature Park and Măcin Mountains National Park.
During this study tour, the delegations visited information and presentation centers, watched documentary movies and meet the counterparts from the two national parks visited. The parts have debated the problems of restrictions inside a protected area and have discussed about opportunities that a natural protected area can offer to the people living in such places (prezervation of traditional activities, tourism development).
